Donald Miller pretty much read my mind:

If you want to bond with your friends, do something very hard with them, something that you won’t be able to do alone.

As he seems to do a lot.

I really do believe, like the trip to Colombia, people draw closer when they experience new places together, new hardships, new adventures. It is amazing to see the family that develops when we do things together that are adventurous and exciting, and most of the time very challenging.

So maybe we should do something like this together, my friends:

Anyone feel up to it? SUMMER ’09: BOATING ACROSS AMERICA!

i’m down. though boating might be more of a challenge than biking. we could boat all the way up the columbia river and then carry the boat over to the mississippi river and then up the ohio and somewhere out east.

on another note, i have been wanting to put together a vespa trip across the country for next summer.
