I at my grandfathers,

and he with his grandson,

with little words and many thoughts,

love overflowing past generational lines,

it is a beautiful thing,

to listen and perceive

the wisdom of the ages

out of an eighty year old man,

with a God bigger than himself.

My grandfather said to me the other day, “We need to stop prayer and do something.” I feel this to be one of the biggest truths of my life at this time. People take so much time to intercede and pray for our nation when our prayers should be rooted in love for those around us, by taking others in, adopting a child who was going to be aborted, and feeding a hungry child or person on the side of the road. These things are rooted in love and is worship to God. When we do the will of God, joy overflows in God’s heart and “the joy of the Lord” becomes our “strength.” Also, things rooted in love are prayers, prayers of worship, and prayers of thanksgiving to God for all he has done for us. We gives thanks through giving back to others; to those Jesus said is himself: the poor, hungry, thirsty. If you take care of one of these, then you are caring for me. That is true prayer and worship.
