snow to rain to ice…

So it snowed yesterday, and it was beautiful. Everything was perfect, everything was still, everyone was snowed in; I felt like I was in the woods sleeping in a cottage…

Then it started raining ice yesterday evening, and created a crazy ass mess. The snow turned to ice everything, grass, driveway, bushes falling apart. 

Last night was a whole different story. Something in the back of the house, the heat pump i think, was making noises because water was falling into it and turning to ice, and all you could hear was metal and ice making loud noises. Then, I was sitting downstairs listening to that heat pump and talking to Rachel, and all of the lights in every direction went out at the same time. We lost electricity all night last night. 

We had candles everywhere, carrying them to see, like people in olden times, and everything that we were doing shut down. It was fantastic. 

So, in the midst of a world of technology and comfort, we sat still for once, and no one did anything. It was silent, more silent then I had ever heard it. 

Until a top of a tree decided to break and fall last night, TIMMMBERRRRR! The ice and snow was to heavy for it to stand, so it broke. Scared the living crap out of me. 

But over all, it was a great time. 

 

Now this morning is a different story. We have electricity, and a BETTER WIFI CONNECTION! And this is what is outside:

So there you go, it’s raining now, creating a nasty sight outside, possible flash flooding, and tonight… it is supposed to ice over, get down to 20 or lower, and no one is going to be able to go anywhere. hahah
