Grandpa Stonestreet

This morning at 4:30am, my grandfather (Dads Dad) passed away. Out of anyone in the world, he was the most respected and honored man in my life. The wisdom, love, and stern gentle judgement of my life has been more than a blessing. I can’t describe how meaningful it was to have him in my life, to come from his line, and for him to be a father to me.

His handshake was the best. The look in his eye when I walked in the room. The pure joy of being in the presence of the Lord. I will always remember the times while my brother would play the piano and sing, and Grandpa would raise his hands high in complete reverence and joy to God. An image that will stay with me forever.

Monday (Visitation) and Tuesday (Funeral) will be a beautiful time of celebration of his life. He will be greatly missed, but he did what God had for him to do, with all his might, with much faith, and great love.

Thank you, Grandpa, for what you have meant to me, and for what you have given. Rest in peace, Sir.

R.I.P Dustin

A few days ago, our friend Dustin shot himself in the woods… He was 14 years old. It was bad enough that his two sisters (one 17, the other 9 or 10) found him after they heard him say, “I love you, goodbye!” and then a gunshot. I didn’t really realize who it was until yesterday evening, when I saw his picture. I never really got to know him, but I definitely talked to him and was around him a lot. 

His sister is one of my good friend, Amber. Please pray for her and her family, it is a really hard time right now…

My little sister, Caitlin, was also pretty close to him, so she is dealing with a lot right now as well…
