Universal Salvation by Tommy Tyson // Rob Bell & Universalism Part 2
(Joyce Carroll) ”Dad, what do you think of Universal Salvation?”
(Tommy Tyson) ”If Jesus wants to give us more than he promises, then it has my vote.”
Tonight here at Shrine Mont CFO (Camp Farthest Out), I heard this quote (via Joyce Carroll, daughter of Tommy Tyson). It was hilarious.
Immediately, when I heard her say those two words, “Universal Salvation”, I jumped even more than I was to attention (not that I wasn’t listening before, my heart just jumped). Then, not to my surprise, my parents glanced over at me with this, “You better listen to this, we know you’re wrong” look. And then when I heard those words, I laughed so hard inside.
These words I think speak of the agreement we all, as Christians, should have together. We can all talk for hours and hours, asking questions and debating the scriptures and our personal interpretations (which is all well and good, and important to growth spiritually) and allow division between us (which is not from God), but in the end, we all need to agree… to hope that this becomes or already is a promise from God Himself.
It is not wrong to hope. It is wrong to judge the hope another person has with these beliefs.
But… I think there is a time coming, and could possibly be here, when these “hopes” become reality and truth.
The more and more and more I look at this topic, dwell on it, pray about it, live in its possibility, and read about it in Scripture, the more I am convinced.
I am convinced that the love of God is more than we can comprehend or fully grasp, and even more the inevitable possible possibilities of that same love for the entire world.
Yet, is it possible that it could not only be a possible promise, but a promise pointed to in Scripture?
To be continued…
Grandpa is So Wise
“God said to me, ‘Stay close to me, I whisper.’”
“When does faith die? When good works end.”
“Stop praying and do something!”
“God doesn’t move us to do something. We have to move, and then he will work.”
Update
Why hello everyone. Here is a flippin update from myself. A lot of things going on right now, some good and some disappointing. But in it all, I am finding myself trusting in the Lord more and more to take care of hard situations; he has given me so much peace, and an overwhelming joy in life. I even cry a lot of the time, letting my true manhood come out. God is so good.
Some new things are going on here – “at The Renewed Revolution of Hope”.. ha I have published a new page on here called, “God”. It includes my thoughts on Faith, Family, Community, Righteousness, and Justice. Each of these are what I believe are what should be focused on in life; they are what God has called me to be and do. God has a part in each one of them, and that is why I simply called is God. This is what I am supposed to live.
Also, some new updates to the page, “Future Endeavors”. If you have not seen Lauren’s photos from Colombia yet, you can see it there, as well as videos that will be posted soon by myself. You can see it here.
It is really exciting to share these things with you all, and I encourage you to look at them in light of the scriptures and ask God to reveal truth to you.
Also, this week I will be posting OAF’s promotional video. I am really excited to show you all. I will post it as soon as I can, and let you all see it for yourself.
Peace.
Next, Medellin, Colombia
Hey everyone,
I’m in Miami about to board my last flight to Medellin. A lot of things have gone through my mind, of course, I’ve had plenty of time to think…
Nothing seems important to me anymore, after knowing God’s call on my life. It has been a very renewing past week. I’ve had a lot of prayer and a lot of encouragement from my family and friends. I thank each one of you for your great love and support in my endeavors. I will always be grateful.
It has been quite a rough road through this experience. A lot of new things have happened, and a lot of growth in these last few months. I am so grateful to God for this great opportunity.
But I am off, boarding in 5 minutes, and in approximately 3 hours, I will be in Colombia!
Hope all of you are well. I will update when I can, but I can’t guarantee that it will be once a day. But of course, you all know I will try my best anyways… I’m just like that. I hope you enjoy my madness, my slight addiction, no… Humorous love for updating and creating community between the boarders of states and countries to spread the love God has given to me to spread.
Now I am boarding. Adios!
Stephen
