One Million Children: Compassion International

For many years, Compassion International has inspired the hearts of individuals to make an investment in life. The investment was the future, it was each child in poverty. God promised years ago in the Old Testament that in the midst of an exile, he would bless the poor and the broken, he would mend their hearts, and they would possess the land. Today, that is what we are seeing happening through Compassion.

Several years ago, Compassion set a goal to sponsor one million children. Today, Wess Stafford, President of Compassion International, posted a blog announcing this goal has been met. 

One million children have been sponsored.

The Compassion Bloggers who were in Calcutta, India this past month had over 900 people sponsor a child as a direct result of them posting blogs about their trip and experience. This helped Compassion hit their top numbers. 

And because of people just like you, families, grandparents, churches, and so many more, the children of the world have been blessed, and the future looks bright. 

I want to personally thank Compassion for inspiring so many individuals to make a big difference in one child, and doing it in such an excellent and creative way. May the numbers continue to grow! May God’s blessings be with Compassion.
